Cirencester Park VWH Hunter Trials

The VWH Hunter Trial is a hidden gem, located around the Polo grounds within the glorious Cirencester Park. Totally hidden from the main road with an extensive course passing through some awesome countryside. Not sure if the course is available to hire, suggest you inquire via the Bathurst Estate.

Comments and Impression

A day of two halves; crisp autumnal morning followed by a colder grey later afternoon. One of the longest courses I have walked to-date with a great mix of jumps. Not especially big and technically challenging apart from the "knock-down" time section at the end. Three rustics followed by final skinny using "bambo" sized poles. The slightest brush brought it down; caught numerous riders out.

Reasonably well organised although trailer parking was tight. Access was good and one way which was nice. The show & XC jumps were in good order. I would recommend this for riders, especially for beginners, and was evident with several families riding together. I was blighted again by poor light. Can't wait until January and the new Canon 50d.

Special Interest :  My Daughter

Not too many pictures as I was concentrating on other things. Came to the rescue of a competitor who had walked to the far side of the course to take some pictures of a family member only to find he had forgotten his memory card. No worries he had a nice set of photos with 24 hrs ...all part of the service.
